Candidates must pass five (5) required CPCU® exams and three (3) CPCU® exams in a chosen concentration - Personal Lines or Commercial Lines.

CPCU 510  Foundations of Risk Management, Insurance and Professionalism 
A foundation course for the CPCU curriculum, this course presents the American Institute Code of Ethics. CPCU 510 encompasses risk evaluation, management and financing and understanding an insurance policy, including policy provisions, insured events, amounts payable, coinsurance, deductibles and external factors affecting policies.

Personal Lines  (with commercial survey)

CPCU 555  Personal Risk Management and Property-Liability Insurance
This course contains 15 assignments with four of these assignments focused on the Homeowners Policy and three assignments on the Personal Auto Policy (PAP).  CPCU 555 will provide you with the basic concepts of personal risk management, development of personal insurance products and underwriting of these products.  Concepts, definitions, coverages and exclusions are important to your mastering 555!

CPCU 557  Survey of Commercial Risk Management and Insurance 
Emphasis in this course is on commercial insurance such as commercial property, general liability and automobile insurance.  Workers compensation, employers liability, business income insurance and risk financing are also emphasized.  Do not take CPCU 557 for granted simply because you work in this specialty area!  Focus on concepts and theories!
